SLABBINCK is now more than 105 years young, providing liturgical craftsmanship at the service of the church since 1903.

In 1923 Henri Slabbinck, founder of Art Studio Slabbinck, printed his first catalogue in black and white. This was the first of many catalogues to illustrate a fine array of quality goods for places of worship. he included vestments, paraments, tapestries and linens, and SLABBINCK continues this tradition to this day. As testament to his foresight, the altarcloth "Chiro" as illustrated in the 1923 catalog is available today. This "Chiro" altarcloth is a white jacquard fabric of 100% Trevira, with inset woven chiro, wheat and grapes motifs. This is a wash in lukewarm water fabric.

The third and fourth SLABBINCK generations are now in charge and still operate in Bruges, Belgium. Bruges, although small, is a culturally significant city recognized as a gathering place for such notable artists as Van Eych, Memling and Pourbus, and for such influential citizens as Erasmus and Thomas More.
