The back of the card has the heading “To A Special Boy (Girl) on your First Communion Day” and has spaces for Name, Date and Church. The tradition behind First Communion Remembrance Cards originated in Europe well over a century ago. In many European countries, First Communion remembrance cards are handed out to commemorate the special day. This tradition is now common in the United States.
