FARMS AND FIELDS

Just outside the village, farmers made their homes. If the farmer wasn't tending to the animals, he would be working in the fields. Farming was a vital part of life in Biblical times.

Farmers grew a variety of crops such as wheat, hay, beans, barley and more. After the grains were harvested, they would be prepared for the market. The wheat and barley would be taken to a mill, where stones powered by a water wheel ground the grains. The wheat and barley was bagged up and taken to market.
